The combination of our individual talents resulted in the formation of 29th Street Designs.

Their story begins on the shores of Lake Temagami in Northern Canada. With no running water or power in their cabin they found themselves passing the time playing with the kids’ art supplies. They were quite pleased with their creations and talked late into the night about how fun it might be to start a stationery business. Their backgrounds were in banking and human resources, so their little idea meant a MAJOR career change. With the help from a third friend, Julie Renner, they formed donovandesigns, named after the dormitory in which they all lived at the University of Kentucky. Their first open house was in November, 2000 and the company has been building momentum ever since.
